Ekumene is live

By Shevek

Ekumene is now in public alpha.

It's a triage system. Which tasks must happen today, which should, which can wait — and whether they fit in the windows you actually have.

That's the whole thing. No gamification. No motivational notifications. No AI training on your data. Just the structure behind your commitments, made visible.

This is early. Things will break. I'm shipping before it's polished because I need real feedback on whether the core idea is useful. If something breaks, I want to hear about it: support@ekumene.ai.

What the Lodestone does

The Lodestone is Ekumene's intelligence engine. Two questions: what matters most, and what's actually possible.

For urgency, it classifies every task into three tiers:

  • Tier 1: Hard deadline, no buffer, external dependencies. This happens today or there are consequences.
  • Tier 2: Little time remaining, strategic importance, approaching prerequisites. This deserves attention if a window exists.
  • Tier 3: Comfortable flexibility, no immediate stakes. This can move without damage.

Every classification shows its reasoning. Disagree? Override it. The system surfaces constraints — you make the decisions.

Recurring goals

"Exercise 3x/week" isn't a floating intention. It's a pool with a deadline.

Ekumene tracks recurring commitments against remaining valid windows. When Thursday arrives and you've only exercised once, the math is clear: two sessions needed, two windows remaining, zero buffer. That changes the tier.

No guilt. No streaks. Just math.

Feasibility check

"3 must-do tasks pending. Work window until 5pm."

The Lodestone checks whether today's urgent tasks fit in the windows you actually have. When they don't, you see the conflict before it becomes a crisis. Not a vague warning — a specific question: which of these can move?

Six pillars

Everything fits somewhere: Work, Projects, Health, People, Home, Rest.

Mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive. Your whole life, not just the work portion. All six pillars available at every pricing tier.

What Ekumene doesn't do

No email ingestion, cloud drive access, browser history, or location data. We only see what you explicitly add.

No streaks, badges, or achievements. No "You've got this!" notifications. No social features.

Every calculation is visible. Every classification explained.

Integrations

Todoist for tasks, Google Calendar for events. Sync is manual — you control when data refreshes. More integrations coming based on what users ask for.
